Envelope addressed to 'Honble Mrs James Napier/ care of the Honble James Napier/ 10th Royal Hussers, Muttra, India, N.W.P.' bearing Great Britain SG 156, 8d orange tied by Bury St. Edmunds/ 97 duplex '20th Sept 77', with Woolpit 'Sept 20' on reverse, routed via Brindisi with Sea Post Office 'Sept 28' and Muttra arrival '13th Oct.' (Part flap missing).
The 10th Royal Hussars left the North West Province for Jellalabad (Afghanistan) and the second Afghan War in 1878.
