India. (British Occupation of Italian Colonies - Eritrea). 1941. Air Mail envelope written 'c/o Legal Department, 'O.E.T.A. (Occupied Enemy Territory Administration), Asmara, Eritrea' endorsed 'In a Camp en route somewhere in East Africa' dated 'Friday 25th April 1941', addressed to 'Miss Evelyne Husseuet, Heliopolis Sporting Club, Cairo Egypt' endorsed 'On Active Service' and bearing India SG 251, 8p violet tied by Army Post Office No 304' rubber date stamp with circular 'Deputy Chief Field Censor' in violet on face and Heliopolis arrival '7th May' on reverse.

Lovely item written from the campaign written by Capt. Maxwell Seton (whom after the war produced more than 15 Hollywood movies) to his sweetheart in Egypt. A very interesting four page text from TESSENEI the Indian Field and Army Post Office being in Tessenie, Eritrea 10.10.41 - 1.4.43.

Captain Maxwell was Chief Censor to the Occupied Enemy Territory Administration in Asmara, Eritrea and also in Cyrenaica.
