Registered envelope addressed to France bearing French General Colonies Yvert 56, 35c orange/ black mixed with French India Yvert 6, 15c blue tied by Inde/ Pondichery date stamp '16th Mars 93' with framed hand-struck 'R' in red on face and Seine arrival on reverse.
Registered 50c rate posted from Pondichery to a Paris suburb and franked with a 35c Dubois Type stamp of the French Colonies General issues and a 15c Group Type to prepay 50c rate. Dr Ed Grabowski writes that this is the only mixed franking of a General issue and Group Type stamp from French India he has noted. "In checking the Millet Dubois collection on the Issuu web site he records only two Dubois covers from French India and no Dubois - Group Type mixed franking covers in Alain Millet's collection.
