British West Indies. (Jamaica - Great Britain). 1843. Envelope written from Jamaica endorsed 'Jamaica Mar 6 - 1843' addressed to London, charged '1/-' with framed 'PACKET LETTER' on face (Robertson P.4) applied in London and received 'Ap 21', re-directed to 18 Sloane Street bearing Great Britain SG 8, 1d brown (imperf plate 29) tied by Maltese Cross.

The only cover known originating in Jamaica with a London Packet Letter strike.

Packet Letters were applied to mail transported to and from Great Britain on vessels owned by the British Post Office.
