Envelope headed 'Prisoner of War Mail' and 'Postage Free', written from 'Miss Nadiya Simoes, Vancouver, Canada' addressed to 'Afredo Simoes, British Civilian, Internee c/o Kencho - Foreign Section, Kanagawa Prefectural Office, Yokohama, Japan/ via New York, New York' cancelled by 'Aug 17 1944' date stamp, routed via New York with 'Examined By' censor tape tied by '11119/ US. Censor' cachet (for POW Mail), opened in Tokyo and re-sealed with censor tape and framed 'Prisoner of War Camp Headquarters Censored' in carmine with oval censor seal in box on face.
