Kobe' addressed to Akron, Ohio bearing 'Koban' SG 116, 5r grey (pair) tied by vernacular Kobe date stamp in red-brown, sent on the 'Empress of India' with 'Chicago & Minn/ R.P.O.' on reverse and Akron arrival 'July 26 97'.

Scarce franking paying the un-opened printed matter mail rate carried over the Pacific.
