Japan. (Netherlands East Indies - Prisoner of War Mail). 1944. Prisoner of War card written from 'Hakkodate Camp 111' stamped in red across top 'Sce Des Prisonniers de Guerre' addressed to Bandoeng, Java' written from 'J.G. Becker 1651, Rank. Sailor. Netherlander' dated '17th Aug 44' on reverse, card pre-printed 'Furyo Yubin' (Prisoner of War Post) with boxed 'hakodate POW Camp' in violet with oval censor seal of "Okayama" in carmine and framed 'Java (district) 2' in violet and censored on arrival by "Suziki".

Mail from Hakodate Camp Three is very scarce. A fine item from a sailor in the Dutch Navy taken Prisoner of War by the Japanese and addressed to his family in Bandoeng, Java.
