Stamp-less envelope written from the Boer Campaign addressed to Straits Settlements cancelled by 'Army Post Office/ Bloemfontein' double ring ring 'De 9 01', endorsed 'On Active Service'/ No Stamps Obtainable' with octagonal 'T/ 10c', routed via India with Tuiticorin transit and boxed 'Foreign Postage Due/ One Anna' on face with Penang arrival 'Ja 22 02' on reverse and circular 'T' hand-stamp with '8' in m/s on face. Lovely item from the Boer Campaign to Penang.
