Envelope addressed to Sumatra, Netherlands Indies bearing India SG 171, 2a6p ultramarine tied by Khairtan date stamp '18th Oct 16', routed via Madras with circular 'Crown/ Passed by Censor/ Madras' in violet on face and Penang with framed 'Passed By/ Assistant Postal Censor/ Penang' in violet on face with Penang transit '4th Nov' and 'N.I. Agent/ Penang' with Medan arrival '2/11' on reverse. Very fine Penang World War One censor cachet.
