Malaya. (Netherlands East Indies - Prisoner of War). 1943. Netherlands East Indies Japanese Occupation 'Dai Nippon' postal stationery card 3 1/2 c grey written from 'L. van Affelen v. Saemsfoort, Bandoeng, Java' cancelled by Bandoeng date stamp '1943' and endorsed 'Tawanan Militair' (Military Prisoner) in red crayon, addressed to 'H. van Affelen v Saemsfoort, No 8560, Indo (Dutch), Landstorm Sergeant 1st Class, Tangst, Java X (Batavia) with boxed hand-stamp 'Furyo Yubin' (Prisoner of War Post) in carmine, rectangular 'Ken'etsuzumi' (censured) in violet and unrecorded oval seal in orange, hand-stamped 'Java (district) 1' and 'Mare e Ikan' (Transferred to Malaya) and rectangular 'Ken'etsuzumi' (censored) in violet with oval receiving unrecorded censor seal and anointed '20th Oct 44' indicating date received in Singapore.
Scarce item of mail from the Japanese Occupation in Java transferred to Singapore.
