Netherlands East Indies. (P.O.W. in Malaya & Java). 1945. Netherlands East Indies Japanese Occupation 'Dai Nippon' postal stationery card 3 1/2c grey written from 'A. Bunder, Bankong, Semarang' endorsed 'Tawanan Militair' (Military Prisoner) addressed to 'Mr F.P.H. Bunder, Dutch, Sergeant, Camp Malaya, Furyo Shuyosho No 1' (Japanese Prisoner of War Camp No 1, Malaya) with oval seal of "Asanuma" and endorsed 'Pakanbaroe' in blue crayon with bold '2' on face.
It was assumed Bunder had been taken POW in Singapore but he had been transferred to Pakanbaroe.
More difficult stationery card issued in January 1945 for civilian use writing to interned P.O.W.'s.
