Malaya. (Straits Settlements - French Paquebot). 1882. Straits Settlements: SG 66a, 6c violet cancelled by octagonal French paquebot 'POSS. ANGL. PAQ. FR. N No 3' (Salles 1932) dated '30th Oct 82' in blue.
This was a replacement Paquebot cancellation noted by Raymond Salles as used on the Hong Kong - Singapore route.
Very scarce in blue and a lovely clear example of this rare postmark with boxed firms chop 'SD & Co" also in blue/ violet.
