Malta. (Italy - Anchor Steam Lines). 1868. Stamp-less envelope written from Messina dates '13th Die 68' addressed to Malta with oval 'Anchor Line Steamers/ Henry John Ross/ Agent/ Messina' on face in green, underpaid with circular Malta '6d' and accountancy hand-stamp ' 3/4' in red with Malta arrival on reverse 'Dec 18'. Superb item.
A scarce combination with the Malta circular six pence tax and Malta accountancy "3 3/4" not listed by Proud.
