China. (Manchuria). 1936. Large 'Anglo-Chinese Eastern Trading Company, Harbin' registered 'Trading envelope' addressed to 'Anglo-Chinese Eastern Trading Co. London' bearing Manchuria SG 54, 1 yuan deep violet and SG 58, 4f yellow-olive tied by vernacular Harbin date stamp '3.5.16' (16th May 1936) with Harbin 2 registration label and framed bilingual 'Registered' hand-stamp in violet with 'via Siberia' on face.

The international postage rates changed on 1st January 1934. The 1 yuan 4 fen rate is an 14 times registered rate, letters to 20 grams, 10 fen plus 6 fen for each extra 20 gram = 10 fen plus 6 fen x 13 = 88 fen plus 16 fen registration fee = 1 yuan 4 fen.
