Stamp-less envelope written from Mauritius addressed to Bordeaux cancelled by 'Crown/ Mauritius/ G.P.O.' date stamp, charged '15' in m/s with boxed accountancy 'Colonies/ & Art 13' in red, sent on the steamer 'Bruk-Green' via Cork with hand-struck 'Cove/ Ship-Letter' in blue (Robertson S1) and Queenstown date stamp on reverse, rated '8' in blue paying the 'ship letter', routed via London with French entry cachet and Bordeaux arrival on reverse. Nice use of the Cove Ship Letter in blue from 1846 to 1850.
