Stamp-less envelope written from 'Plains Wilheins, 14th July, 1851' addressed to France cancelled by 'Crown/Mauritius' date stamp sent on the steamer 'Bidston' with hand-struck 'Ship-Letter' and boxed Anglo-French accountancy 'Colonies & c Art 13' in red routed via England with 'Ryde/ShipLetter hand-stamp in blue (Robertson S/5), French entry cachet in red, rated '15' with Bordeaux receiver on reverse. A very handsome Ship Letter cover from Mauritius.
