Stamp-less envelope written from Bel Air dated '6th May 1849' addressed to France with 'Mauritius/GPO' double ring on face and boxed 'Colonies/ & Art 13' accountancy routed via Ireland with Cove/Ship Letter' hand-stamp in blue on face (Robertson S2) AND Queenstown transit on reverse, with 'Angl. 3 Boulogne S-Mer' French entry cachet and taxed '8' in blue for the British Letter and rated '30' on arrival with Fleche receiver. Very fine and rare item from Mauritius with scarce Cove Ship Letter. Exhibition item.
