Stamp-less envelope written from 'Bel-Air' dated '5th Mars 1850' addressed to France with framed 'Souillac/ Ma 12 1850' hand-stamp with framed 'Paid' and endorsed 'Ship 1/-' in black m/s with 'Crown/ Mauritius' date stamp on face, routed via Great Britain with boxed accountancy 'Colonies/ &c Art 13' with hand-struck 'Ship-Letter' on reverse in red, charged '8' for the ship and taxed '6f 0' (six francs) in m/s with La Fleche receiver '7th June' on reverse. Very rare 1st Type boxed Souillac. Superb item with very high French Charge.
