Stamp-less envelope written from Port Louis dated '31st Nov 1844' addressed to France cancelled by 'Mauritius Post Office' double ring, charged '1s', sent on the steamer 'Sea Nymph' via India and London with boxed Anglo-French accountancy 'Colonies/ &c. Art 12' in red and framed 'India Letter/ Deal' in black (Robertson In 1), with French entry cachet and rated '8' in m/s for the uniform ship letter due and charged '30' in m/s on arrival with Bordeaux receiver on reverse. Lovely item.
