Folded letter addressed to Mexico bearing Great Britain SG 90, 1s green (2) tied Glasgow/ 159 duplex endorsed 'Per French steamer' with circular 'PP' on in red on face, routed via London 'Oct 15' with French entry cachet and carried by French paquebot with octagonal 'MEXIQUE/ FLORIDE' on reverse (Salles 1315) dated '18th Oct', charged with hand-struck '6' reales due for Mexican internal postage.
This is the only example of this ship's marking on covers originating from a European country other than France.
