Stamp-less envelope written from Batavia Roads dated '23rd July 1850' addressed to Whitehaven, England endorsed 'Via Marseilles for Overland' with oval 'Forwarded by/ Martin Dyce & Co/ Batavia' on reverse in green, routed via Singapore with framed 'Singapore/ Bearing' and oval 'Forwarded by/ Martin Dyce/ Singapore' in red on reverse with London transit and Whitehayen receiver '23rd Sept' in blue on reverse and rated '1/12' in m/s. Double forwarding cover very scarce.
