Registered Air Mail envelope addressed to 'Major Schouten, Netherlands Indies Government, Camp Columbia, Brisbane' bearing Holland 2c green and 50c bistre (pair) tied by Nijmegen date stamp with registration label and 'Nederland/ Opend Door Den Censuurdienst' label, with Brisbane reciver and forwarded to 'V.A.N.E.Z./ Batavia.'
Major Dr. Schouten had been a Doctor at the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army, Camp Columbia, Wacol, Brisbane' and served with the 'RAPWI' (Recovery of Allied Prisoners of War and Internees) in the Dutch Indies, Timor and Thailand. The N.E.I. Government in Exile was quartered in Camp Columbia from 1944.
