Netherlands East Indies. (Protection Camp Mail). 1940. Netherlands East Indies postal stationery letter sheet 7 1/2c violet written from Ambarawa dated '21st May 1940' and cancelled by Ambarawa date stamp '22nd May' with 'Geopend Door Censuur' label, addressed to Oengaran with arrival '17th June 1940' and forwarded to the 'Internment Camp for German Woman' at Salatiga with 'Censuur' label on face.
Salatiga must have started out as an Internment Camp but was used as a Protection Camp for the 43 German woman and 51 children interned there.
