Netherlands East Indies. (Prisoner of War in Java). 1944. Prisoner of War (2nd) postal stationery reply card (Balasan) with pre-printed 'Ofuku Yubin Hagaski/ Fukushin' (Postcard with reply/ Inbound) and 'Furyo Yubin' (Prisoner of War Post), written from 'A. van den Berg, Djakarta' dated '19th August 44' addressed to 'J.L. van den Berg, Belanda Totok (Dutch), No 2130, Java C.Q. (Bandoeng) with framed seal of "Taskahashi" in orange, hand-stamped 'K.5.' indicating location in the camp and endorsed '10th January 45', the arrival date in the camp in Bandoeng.
David Tett and Spink state 'These reply cards are very scarce'. The 'Balasan' is the reply half of the double to be returned.
