Netherlands East Indies. (Protection Camp Mail). 1941. Censored envelope addressed to Rantjaekek, Java bearing Netherlands Indies SG 429, 10c vermilion tied by Blitar date stamp '28th June 1941' with double ring 'Beheerder/ Beschermingskamp/ Blitar' in violet with 'Djiboeka Oleh Censuur' label tied by 'Censuur/ 4' date stamp '3/7' on face and reverse. A unique item.
The Internment Camp at Blitar was housed in the 'Grand Hotel' at first for Indonesian and German women and later in March 1941 a Protection Camp for Dutch women and children. 130 women were held in the Camp.
