Netherlands East Indies. (Forwarded Mail). 1857. Stamp-less folded letter sheet written from Oengaran dated '7th Dec 57' addressed to France cancelled by oval Samarang/ Franco in green ink with oval 'Forwarded By/ Dorrepaal & Co./ Samarang' in red on reverse, rated '100' styvers for the 'Porte Paye' on reverse, endorsed 'Via Suez and Marseille' with French entry cachet '16th Jan 58' and charged '16' in m/s on face.
Lovely item of Forward mail via Samarang and Singapore unrecorded by De Beer and Rowe but an example is illustrated on Page 175 of the Delbeke hand-book.
