Netherlands East Indies. (Censor Mail). 1940. Envelope addressed to the United States bearing Netherlands Indies SG 397, 2c purple (3) and SG 403, 10c scarlet tied by Pladjoe date stamp '29th July 40' with blank censor tape tied by 'Censuur Gepasseerd/ Palembang' hand-typed in violet onto plain censor tape on the reverse.
Very fine item of local military censor mark from Palembang believed to be the only censor known.
