Netherlands East Indies. (Singapore). 1940. Air Mail envelope addressed to the Netherlands bearing SG 347, 20c violet tied by Semarang date stamp '5th May 40', routed via Singapore with 'Crown/ Passed by Censor' label tied by framed 'Passed By Censor 156/ Singapore in violet on face and reverse, with circular single numeral '28' on face with German censor tape 'Geoffnet "C" applied in Cologne and tied by German censor with framed '12' in violet applied on arrival.

Morenweiser Type 4a is listed from 19th May 40 and censor numbers 111 - 142. The Passed By Censor two line label black on white (Morenweiser Type 2B) is only known with the date range 7th Sept 39.

The single ring numeral censor appears to have been applied in transit at Singapore early 1940.
