Stamp-less envelope endorsed 'Corps d'Occupation du Sudan Francais' addressed to 'Monsieur Bergeron, Lieutenant aux Tirailleurs Soudanais, cancelled by framed 'The Royal Niger Company/Chartered & Limited/ 16 May 1898/ Post Office/ Burutu' on face in violet (struck twice) routed via Paris '17th Avril 99' London and Liverpool 'Ap 18 99' on reverse with Whydah/Dahomey, Carnotville '7th Aout' , Sagon '18th Aout' , Porto Novo '20th Aout' , Savalou '21st Aout', Dogba '22nd Aout', Sagon '23rd Aout' , Zagnanado/Dahomey, Adjohon '11th Sept' in blue, Kouande and Diapaga (Niger) '24th Sept' and forwarded to Gao with Segou/Soudan Francais '12th Nov' and Bougouni/Soudan on face '30th Oct' and Tombouctou/Soudan Francais '15th Dec' on reverse. Remarkable cover travelled in French Soudan, Niger, Haute Volta and Dahomey.
