Palestine. (Trans- Pacific Mail). 1941. Registered Air Mail envelope addressed to New York bearing Palestine SG 97, 10m slate, SG 102, 100m turquoise and SG 180, 15m ultramarine tied by oval Registered/ Jerusalem date stamp '1st Jan 41' with matching registered label and 'Opened by Censor' label tied by framed 'Palestine/ Passed By/ Censor/ 126' , routed via Rangoon and Hong Kong over the Pacific with 'Registered/ Honolulu, Hawaii '5th Feb' and New York receiver 'Feb 8' on reverse.
1st January 1941; By NE 48 which left 7 January and arrived Rangoon 10th January. By CNAC which flew to Hong Kong via Chungking. Then 'Philippine Clipper' which left Hong Kong 1st February and arrived Hawaii 5th February (back stamped0, San Francisco 7th February. Delivered 8th February (arrival b/s).
Franked 140 mils for 125 mil Air Rate plus 15 mil registration fee.
