(Bahrain). 1940. envelope headed 'American President Lines Ltd.' addressed to Bahrain, Persian Gulf bearing India SG 248, 1/2a brown (pair) tied by Bombay GPO double ring '3rd July 40' with 'Passed by censor/ 74' censor label (white on red) tied by triangular 'Passed by censor/ C 16' and Bahrain arrival on reverse, underpaid with Bahrain hand-struck 'T' and forwarded to California with Bahrain dispatch, routed via New York with 'New York N.Y./ GPO/ Due 4 Cents' duplex and Puente/ Calif arrival 'Sept 28' on reverse. Nice item of taxed mail to Bahrain.
