V Suez/ Marseille' French entry cachet cachet in red on face '11th Jan 62' rated '16' with Paris a Sedan ambulant '14th Jan' on reverse with Fay Champ arrival '14/2' and forwarded to Reims. Superb item sent by P & 0 steamer via Madras and Suez with the 'PD' erased by the French under the 1860 Franco-Spanish Treaty and the amount of 16 decimes (double letter rate) paid by the addressee in Mareuil-sur-Ay.
