Envelope addressed to the Netherlands bearing SG 305, 4c carmine (pair) tied by Dapa/ Suricao P.I. duplex dated 'Sept 5 1917', routed via Suricao and held for additional postage, bearing SG 304, 2c yellow-green tied by Manilla date stamp 'Sept 28' added for extra postage with instructional hand-stamp 'Postage/ Subsequently/ Paid' in violet and endorsed 'Postage Paid 2' in blue crayon, with Dapa, Rec'd 'Sept 14' and Manilla P.I./ Transit' 'Sept 28' on reverse, routed via France with 'Control Postal Militaire' label tied by oval 'Ouvert Par L' Autorite Militaire' on face and reverse with Aarle - Rixtel receiver '17th Dec 17'.

Very nice item of postage due mail from the United States Administration in the Philippines. The instructional hand-stamp 'Postage Subsequently Paid is rarely seen.
