Philippines. (Trans-Pacific Mail - Singapore). 1939. Air Mail envelope addressed to Vaud, Switzerland bearing SG 517, 36c violet (pair) tied by Cebu P.I. date stamp '8th Dec 1939', endorsed 'via Singapore / K.L.M.' , hand-stamped 'Passed For Transmission' on face in violet with 'A.V. 2' m/s in red crayon and arrival endorsement '11th Jan 1940'.
The manuscript 'A.V. 2' applied before the hand-stamp came into use in Singapore (15.2.40) - (9.5.40).
