Stamp-less envelope written from Madeira dated '3rd Jan 1853' addressed to France with British Post Office 'Madeira' on reverse, sent on the steamer 'Brilliant" via London with framed 'Anglo-French accountancy 'Colonies/ & c. Art 13', with hand-struck 'Ship Letter' on reverse, French entry cachet, rated '8', erased and charged '15' in m/s with Rouen arrival. Nice item.
