Registered envelope addressed to Paris, France bearing Mozambique SG 354, 15c brown/ purple, SG 362, 80c orange (pair) and SG 365, 2e lake tied by octagonal Lourenco Marques date stamp '24th Aug 40' with matching registered label, carried by the steamer "Mouzinho" hand-stamped 'Pelo Vapor "Mouzinho" in violet to Lisbon with Lisboa/ Central transit '24th Sept', held until '19th Mai 41' with instructionals 'ZONE OCCUPEE' with 'Retour A L' Envoyeur/ Relations Postale/ Interrompues' both in carmine with framed 'Retour A 'L' Envoyeur/ 126' all on face, routed via Spain with boxed 'Certificado/ Madrid 23 May 41' and German censor tape tied by circular German censor cachet applied in Munich and Paris arrival '5th June 41' on reverse.
Registered mail sent from Mozambique, held in Lisbon from '24th Sept 40' until '19th May 41' then via Madrid to Munich and arrival in Paris '5th Juin 1941'.
After the fall of France on 22nd June 1940 the Germans did not allow mail from overseas addressed to the Occupied Zone.
