Spanish Colonies. (British [Post Office in Puerto Rico). 1857. Stamp-less folded envelope written from Mayaguez dated '29th Mai 1857' addressed to France cancelled by bold San Juan Porto Rico double arc on reverse 'Ju 13 1857', endorsed 'Packet Anglais' and routed via London with framed Anglo French accountancy 'GB/ 1f 60c' and London transit '30th June', French entry cachet '30th Juin 67' with 'Paris a Bordeaux ambulant and Bordeaux arrival '2nd July' on reverse and charged with hand-struck '8'.
Lovely item of mail with fine strike of the British Post Office in Puerto Rico, which would have been carried via Saint Thomas.
