Brs./ Field Force South Africa' addressed to London bearing Rhodesia SG 70, 4d ultramarine and claret mixed with SG 84, 1s bistre (pair) tied by Registered/ Bulawayo date stamp '20th Jy 01' with framed 'R/ Registered/ Bulawayo, S. Rhodesia/ No (873) in blue crayon with hooded London Registered receiver on reverse.

Very attractive cover paying the double registration rate from the 'Kings Own Scottish Borders'.

Nine hundred and ninety eight Officers and men were sent to the Boer War on the "S.S. "Kildon Castle" in May 1900.
