Rumania. (Sweden - Prisoner of War Mail). 1917. Envelope headed 'Correspondance Prisoners of War' addressed to 'Society Croix Rouge, Geneva, Switzerland; cancelled by circular 'Romania Direct. Reg. I.S. Nord/ Central Angbllest' with hand-struck 'Censurat Reg. Inter. S. Niord' in violet witl oval 'Cenzurat/ R/ M.R. D' and framed 'Civili' on face and reverse, hand-stamped with bold '16' and 'Secietatea Nationala de Cruce Rosie' on reverse and Jasi dispatch '25th Oct 17', routed via Sweden with 'Committee des Prisonniers Croix Kreuzes/ Stockholm' in carmine on face. Superb item.
Rumanian stamps on the face have been lifted by the censor for secret messages and removed.
