Great Britain postal stationery envelope 'halfpenny' vermillion tied by London squared circle 'Feb 17 98' addressed to St. Petersburg with circular vernacular cachet reading 'S.P. Burg Postal Censorship of Foreign Newspapers & Magazines' in violet on face and St. Petersburg receiver on reverse.
Scarce censorship in use from 1896 - 1905 from the F.N.M.C.O. (Foreign Newspaper & Magazines Censorship Office), less than twenty examples recorded.
