Official envelope headed 'In Dienst' addressed to 'The Royal Engineers, Cape Town' endorsed 'No Stamps' and canceled 'Field Post Office/ British Army S. Africa' double ring 'Ju 23 00' with hand-struck charge '1d' on face and Cape Town arrival 'June 3rd' with 'Field Post Office/ British Army S. Africa' date stamp 'July 4' and London/ Paid receiver in red 'Jy 20' on face. Superb item with very fine scarce 'Charge Clerk' struck twice used to signify the cover had been 'passed' by the department with out any charge.
