South Africa. (Netherlands East Indies). 1941. South Africa postal stationery 'one penny red/ black' news-band wrapper cancelled by Cape Town date stamp addressed to Weltevreden, Java with 'Door Censuur Geopend' censor tape tied by 'Censuur/ 1' date stamp in red '3rd Nov 41' struck three times on face and four times on reverse.

Printed matter mail had to be presented at the Post Office counter in an open envelope for censorship and was then closed with a censor tape and sealed.

A superb item from the P. Bulterman collection and illustrated in "Nico de Weijer's' wonderful book on Netherlands Indies W.W.2 censor's.
