Sudan. 1943. Air Mail envelope written from the 'Assistant District Commissioner, Juba' addressed to Scotland bearing SG 41, 5m olive and black and SG 44c, 4pi ultramarine and black tied by Sudan Air Mail/ Juba' '27th May 43' with Khartoum transit and bold circular 'A' on face in violet. Lovely quality.
The letter code 'A' was purely for internal use indicating the handling of certain letters by the censor.
Code 'A' from Juba is recorded by John Little (25.4.42) and two dates known to Mike White 18 Aug 43 and Sept 43.
