"Usaramo" at Port Sudan Quays with circular 'Auf hoher See/ an Bord des/ P.D. "Usaramo" on reverse in violet dated '19 Apr. 1934' and 'Woermann-Linie A.G./ Deutsche Ost Afrika-Linie' label, addressed to Arnstadt, Germany bearing SG 50, 5m black and green, SG 51, 10m black and carmine and SG 52, 15m sepia tied by Port Sudan Quays date stamp '19th April' headed 'By Air Mail/ Mit Luft Post', routed via Khartoum with 'Khartoum - Port Sudan/ T.P.O. No 2' transit of the Red Sea Branch line and Sudan Air Mail/ Khartoum '20/4' on reverse.
The "Usaramo" was built in Hamburg in 1920. and was part of the Woermann Line German East Africa fleet, sunk in 1944 near Bordeaux during WW2.
