Air Mail envelope headed 'Sudan Railways' written from 'The Grand Hotel, Khartoum' dated 'Jan 24th 1941' addressed to 'Miss Evelyne Hussenet, 1, rue Touthmosis, Heliopolis, Cairo', endorsed 'On Active Service' bearing Sudan SG 41, 5m brown and black (2), SG 43, 15m blue and chestnut and SG 44, 2p purple and orange tied by 'Field Post Office/ 174' double ring '25th Jan 41' with triangular framed (Crown)/ 'Passed By Censor/ No 2428' in violet on face.

Lovely item from the East Africa Campaign in Eritrea and Ethiopia written by 'Maxwell Setton' (who after the war produced more than 15 hit Hollywood films) to his sweetheart in Egypt. Interesting text.
