Thailand. ( Netherlands Post Office In Bangkok ). 1946. Stamp-less Air Mail envelope endorsed 'On Active Service' written by Capt Theelan to his wife in Maastricht cancelled by 'Ned. Postkantoor / Bangkok date '11th Aug 46' on face. Capt Theelen had been a Dutch P.O.W. on the Thai - Burma railway while awaiting repatriation he organized the Netherlands Post Office in The Bangkok requesting a Swiss style stamp for use by the Netherlands Mission. The cancel was received by Theelan on the 26th March 1946. Very fine.
