Thailand. 1945. Air Mail envelope written from 'Major Schouten, Bangkok' addressed to Holland bearing SG 254, 5s violet, SG 256, 15s blue, SG 296, 50s grey and orange, SG 307, 1b blue, SG 309, 2s deep green (pair) , SG 311, 2s brown (pair) and SG312, 3s green (pair) tied by Bangkok date stamp with circular '2' (serif type) censor cachet in blue on face with bilingual 'Par Avion' label. Major Dr Schouten had been a Doctor at the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army, Camp Columbia, Wacol, Brisbane and served with the 'RAPWI' ( Recover of Allied Prisoners of War and Internees ) in the Dutch Indies, Timor and Thailand. The NEI Government in Exile was quartered in Camp Columbia from 1944. A very nice item.

Having recorded over one hundred Thai censor hand-stamps 6 or 9 being the most common, we have noted only two examples of the censor '2' with serif and one of the normal type. Nils Ramm-Ericson did not have an example of the '2' censor hand-stamp in his four volume 'Airmails of Siam'.
