Thailand. (Netherlands Post Office in Bangkok). 1946. Stamp-less envelope endorsed 'On Active Service' written by Capt Theelan to his wife in Maastricht cancelled by 'Ned. Postkantoor / Bangkok dated '5th Oct 46' on face. Capt Theelan had been a Dutch P.O.W. on the Thai-Burma railway white awaiting repatriation he organized the Netherlands Post Office in Bangkok requesting a Swiss style date stamp for use by the Netherlands Mission. The cancel was received by Theelan on the 26th March 1946. Very fine.
