Thailand. (Civilian Internees Mail in Thailand). 1945. Envelope written from 'Mr & Mrs W. Marshall' addressed to 'Mrs Landgren, c/o The Electric Corporation, Bangkok' bearing Thailand SG 312, 10s carmine tied by Bangkok date stamp '28th Feb 45' with 'Internment Camp/ Bangkok, Thailand/ Censored' and signed with circular '1' censor cachet in violet on face.
The internees were held in two camps. The first at Ta Phra Chan, the Siamese University controlled by the Thai authority, held 180 men and 25 women. The other camp across town was controlled by the Japanese and little is known of this camp.
