Thailand. (Penang). 1939. Envelope addressed to Texas bearing SG 283, 10s carmine tied by Bangkok date stamp '19th Sept 39', endorsed 'Printed Matter', routed via Malaya with circular 'Crown/ Passed by Censor' hand-stamp on face. This scarce censor was only in use from September 1st to Sept 23rd 1939 and is rarely found with such a bold strike.
A lovely item of unopened mail sent at the printed matter rate.
